About Delhi

As we all know, Delhi is the capital of our country. History of Delhi is very ancient; it has also been the capital of the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire in ancient times. The Delhi Sultanate was an Islamic empire that operated from Delhi and ruled a large part of India for 320 years. Five dynasties ruled Delhi for 320 years (1206–1526) & The Mughal Empire ruled Delhi over three centuries. So it is very difficult to describe Delhi in few words. Now we talk about modern Delhi, Modern Delhi which is also known as Lutyens’ Delhi. Modern Delhi is just opposite to old Delhi for architecture, building materials, and layout. When the India’s Capital shifted from Kolkata to Delhi in the British Raj, Lutyens built Rashtrapati Bhavan which was called Viceroy’s House in the old times.
